Free Pattern of the Week!

This weeks free pattern is Bear with me Dishcloth from KnitPicks.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 9.25" diameter
 NEEDLES US 6 (3.5 mm) DPNs and 16” circular needle

This adorable dishcloth uses Elizabeth Zimmermann's Pi shawl ratio to create a flat circle. The ears are knitted flat after binding off the main circle., and the eyes are done using duplicate stitch. 

DIRECTIONS

Using CC2, cast on 8 sts onto DPNs. join into round, being careful not to twist sts. 

Knit 2 rnds. Next rnd: *M1, K1*, rep from * to end of rnd. 

Switch to CC1. Knit 2 rnds. 

Next rnd: *M1, K1*, rep from * to end of rnd. 

Knit 3 rnds. Switch to MC. Knit 1 rnd. 

Next rnd: *K1, M1*, rep from * to end of rnd. 

Knit 8 rnds. 

Next rnd: *K1, M1*, rep from * to end of rnd. 

Knit 9 rnds. 

Bind off 26 sts. Cut yarn. Put next 9 sts on holder or scrap yarn. Reattach yarn, and bind off next 20 sts. Cut yarn, and put next 9 sts on holder or scrap yarn. Reattach yarn and BO rest of sts. 

Ears

Put 9 sts from holder on needles. 

Row 1: Knit. 

Row 2: Purl. 

Row 3: Knit. 

Row 4: Purl. 

Row 5: BO 1 st, k7, BO 1 st. 

Row 6: BO 1 st pwise, p5, BO 1 st pwise. Row 7: BO all sts kwise. 

Finishing

 Weave in ends. Using duplicate stitch, create eyes over a square of four sts. Best placement for the eye stitches is to make the inside eye sts roughly even with the outside edges of the CC1 circle and about two stitches above it. See photo for guide.
